Mail Room All incoming mail is delivered to CITYPLACE I's mailroom located in the Atrium behind the mid-rise elevator bank. Clients must pick up their mail at the post office mailroom between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. each weekday morning. Outgoing mail receptacles are located in the mailroom as well as across from the garage elevators in the Atrium. Mail is collected at 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. All drop boxes are located in the mailroom. The following overnight services are available:
Please note that no collections are made on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays. Retail Services CITYPLACE I offers retail business services on the street level as well as on the Concourse. A restaurant and a newsstand store are located in the lobby, along with a full-service banking facility. A skin care/hair salon is located on Haynes Street. There is also a restaurant located on the Concourse. Other shops, restaurants, and theaters are within short walking distances of CITYPLACE I. Transportation CITYPLACE I is easily accessible from the extensive highway system serving the Hartford area. Interstate Highways 91 and 84 are directly accessible from CITYPLACE I. Bradley International Airport is also accessible via the highway. The Amtrak and bus stations are within easy walking distance from the building. Elevator System A. Overview CITYPLACE I features 18 main passenger elevator cabs grouped into three separate elevator banks. The elevator system serves the low-rise floors atrium-12, mid-rise floors 15-27, and high-rise floors 28-38. The cabs are dispatched for maximum efficiency at peak periods. In CITYPLACE I, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. are the up-peak hours and 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. are the down-peak hours. During up-peak hours, the cabs in each elevator bank travel from the lobby to the highest call and then return to the lobby. During down-peak hours, the cabs are dispatched from the top floors to the lobby. At all other times, the elevator cabs are placed on a balance system to minimize passenger wait times. When the cabs are on the balance system, they are staggered two floors apart. The cabs are dispatched from the controllers located in the machine rooms of the building. Each main bank of elevators is connected to an emergency generator. This would allow for continued use of one elevator cab in each bank if the building's electrical power is interrupted. In addition to the passenger elevators, there is a service elevator and two parking garage elevators. There are also a set of escalators connecting the lobby and the concourse levels.
CITYPLACE I is served by one oversized service elevator which runs from the loading dock to the 38th floor. This elevator travels 500 feet per minute and has a capacity of 5,000 lbs. Please refer to the Deliveries section for instructions on scheduling the service elevator. C. Maintenance The elevator and escalator systems in CITYPLACE I are maintained by an Otis Elevator mechanic. The mechanic is responsible for the complete daily operation of the elevators and escalators. The mechanic continually monitors and adjusts the systems to ensure accuracy and safety. The mechanic's normal business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An on-call service is available before and after the mechanic's normal business hours. Any requirement for service should be made to the Management Office at 275-6666 or Building Security at 275-6697. Parking ENCLOSED COVERED PARKING Located beneath CITYPLACE I is a two-story secured, parking facility. The CITYPLACE I parking garage provides approximately 300 parking spaces for tenants and visitors to the building. The garage entrance is located on Pearl Street and provides easy access to Downtown Hartford and the Hartford highway system. A. Hours of Operation The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The garage is closed all day on Sundays. All monthly parkers are provided cards that allow them entry whenever the garage is closed. B. Interior Layout The parking garage is comprised of two levels with one continuous ramp connecting the two floors. From inside the building, the garage can be easily accessed by two designated elevators in the atrium. C. General Access and Monthly Parking CITYPLACE I garage offers parking on an hourly or daily basis as well as the convenience of a monthly parking pass. Hourly parking rates vary by duration of parking need. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis unless arrangements are made for a reserved parking space. Daily and Monthly rates may be obtained from the Manager of Parking Services at (860)275-6667. The number of monthly passes available to clients are based upon their lease agreement. Additional month-to-month passes may be obtained through the Management Office depending upon space availability. These additional spaces are subject to cancellation by management at any time without prior notice. Monthly parkers will receive a plastic parking card. Persons who wish to cancel their monthly parking privileges must notify the Management Office in writing at least two weeks in advance of the desired cancellation date. Clients are billed directly by the parking office on a monthly basis. Any questions regarding billing may be directed to the Manager of Parking Services at (860)275-6667. D. Additional Parking There are numerous additional parking areas within walking distance of CityPlace.
